Innerhalb von HELGES verfügen wir über ein metallfreies Reinraumlabor der Klasse ISO 6, das ausschließlich der Geochemie von blankempfindlichen (Halb-)Metallen gewidmet ist. Mehrere Laminar-Flow-Boxen der Klasse ISO 4 werden für die Probenaufbereitung von Umweltproben zur Isotopenverhältnis- sowie Konzentrationsmessung zusammen mit anderen wichtige Infrastrukturen, wie z.B. Zentrifugen, Ultraschallbäder, Mikrowaagen, Heizplatten usw., verwendet. Routinemäßig werden unter anderem Li-, B-, Mg-, Si-, K-, Fe-, Ni, Zn-, Sr- und Nd-Isotope gemessen. Dabei sind die Methoden so optimiert und die Blindwerte reduziert, dass Isotopenverhältnismessungen teilweise mit nur 1ng des interessierenden Elements möglich sind.

Ion Chromatograph
Ion Chromatographs are recorders that are used in chromatography; a form of high pressure liquid chromatography using conductivity detectors where a combination of weak ionic solvents are used to separate anions and cations of a solution, with the contribution of the solvent to conductivity suppressed just prior to detection; measures anions such as sulfate, nitrate, and chloride in hydrometers.
