GGFMB is a global geomagnetic field reconstruction for the period between 900,000 and 700,000 years ago. It includes, in particular, the last complete field reversal approximately 780,000 years ago, the transition from the Matuyama chron with reversed magnetic field polarity to the current Brunhes chron. It is based on 38 paleomagnetic data series from sediments with mostly independent age control.
